Industry Beans Fitzroy is looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Hands to join our iconic venue in Fitzroy!

 

Must be available for 1 day of work on the weekend and 1-2 days of work on the weekdays.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Head Chef the Kitchen Hand is central to supporting the Chefs and the back of house operation. Working in service and completing prep and cleaning duties, the Kitchen Hand is key to delivering and maintaining a high standard and consistent quality of all menu items. The Kitchen Hand team member works day times only and gets paid penalty rates for weekends. This role is a perfect opportunity for someone studying a commercial cookery course.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

• Operate the industrial dishwasher
• Wash and sort dishes when necessary
• Closing and cleaning up duties
• Follow sanitation policies at all times
• Provide assistance to Chefs and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
• Assist the chefs with basic prep duties

 

You will be perfect for this role if you have:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• A positive personality
• The ability to work alongside a supporting BOH and FOH team
• Great time management skills
• Availability to work on both weekdays and weekends
