Who we are

Back Centre is a specialist office seating and ergonomic product retailer that has been in business for over 32 years. We service a range of small to medium-sized businesses, government departments, and retail customers. Our philosophy is to find the right chair for each person, and our small dedicated team work closely together to provide great service to all our clients. We are located at 14a Payneham Road, Stepney, and we operate 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, so no weekends are required.

What is the role?

We are looking for someone with admin experience with an eye for detail, a strong commitment to customer service and able to work in a team environment. We encourage individuals who lack retail experience but possess computer and customer service skills to apply, as we will provide training in product knowledge and retail operations. Some of the tasks will include:

A minimum of 2+ years of administrative experience is required for this position.

Answering emails from customers

Processing quotes, orders, and invoicing for customers

Processing and shipping internet orders

Helping manage trial stock and following up with customers

Following sales via email and phone

Answering phones

Maintaining the showroom display

General office duties

Receiving stock

What skills are we looking for?

Australian work rights are required for this position.

Our business has evolved over the last three years, and many of our clients know us and use email to place orders and deal with queries. Therefore, we are looking for someone with:

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook

Data entry and communication skills

Good written communication skills

Attention to detail

Willingness to learn about our product

Is a team player

Experience in Retail Express would be a bonus, but we offer training in this software

We are looking for someone who:

Is looking for longer term role

Available to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am-5 pm.

There may be additional hours to cover holidays and sick leave.

The salary is negotiable based on experience.

There will be a three-month probationary period.
