Blackburn Cleaning Co is a professional luxury cleaning company seeking the recruitment of casual cleaners to support over the busy summer period from October 2022 to February 2023. Located in Byron Bay, NSW, known for delivery of high-quality cleaning services to high-end, VIP clients in luxury accommodation units on the far North Coast (Byron Bay, Lennox Heads and Ballina areas).

We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about cleaning and hold exceptional time management skills. The successful candidates will have prior residential and/or commercial cleaning experience or come from a housekeeping background. Ideally, you will have prior experience in guesthouse changeover cleans to be able to keep up with the demands of the busy tourism season this summer. Hours will be allocated in line with availability but are generally between the hours of 7am to 5pm, 7 days a week.

The Role

The main aim of this role is to complete servicing and check-out cleans across a number of luxury accommodation units including Airbnbs, apartments and guesthouses across the Byron Bay, Lennox Head and Ballina regions. You will ensure that they are cleaned to a high standard of presentation and in line with the daily checkout schedule, including:

• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors throughout the property.
• Cleaning toilets, showers and basins to a high standard.
• Rubbish collection and disposal in designated areas.
• Cleaning of glass, both internal and external to ensure free of streaks and smudges.
• Spot cleaning of carpets and soft furnishings throughout the property.
• Change linen, towels and toiletries ahead of the next guests.
• Dusting and wiping down all hard surfaces including kitchens, living and dining areas.
• Adjusting furniture, desk items, and appliances when necessary.
• Immediately report any defects or maintenance issues for resolution.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies, procedures and legislation.

You will be required to work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring that all deliverables are met to a high level of client satisfaction.

What kind of person will succeed in this role?

• Must have an Australian driver’s licence and access to own, reliable transport to travel between sites.
• Must have (or be willing to obtain) a clear Police Check.
• Strong knowledge of safe work principles including chemical mixing, manual handling, use of PPE and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role, with the ability to stand, bend, lift and carry for periods of time.
• Self-motivated, autonomous worker – remains focused on the task at hand with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• A punctual individual with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
• Polite, customer-focused and excellent personal presentation.
