About the Role
The Part-Time Bartender is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of a cocktail-forward bar that showcases classic cocktails with Australian inspiration alongside a dynamic wine list. This role includes collaborating with the bar team, fostering creativity, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring adherence to recipes, cost controls, and rosters.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in fast-paced cocktail bars and possess strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to inspire a cohesive team. Empathy, humility, and enthusiasm are key traits for cultivating a vibrant and enjoyable work environment.

You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring consistency in cocktail execution, stock management, and customer engagement. Your ability to work collaboratively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams will be key to your success.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a lead bartender, with a strong understanding of cocktail-making techniques and equipment
- Ability to start from the 28th of April
- Food and wine knowledge with a high standard of service delivery
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating a welcoming and positive guest experience
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
- RSA and Basic Food Safety certification required
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the bar team to foster a collaborative and engaging environment
- Conduct daily briefings to align staff on operational goals and customer expectations
- Address team concerns with empathy and maintain morale during high-pressure periods
- Ensure staff adhere to service standards and bar protocols
- Assist the Venue Manager in identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development
Cocktail Creation & Delivery
- Ensure all drinks are prepared according to provided recipes and presented impeccably
- Conduct regular tasting sessions to maintain consistency and excellence
- Monitor stock control on COGS and recipe maintenance
- Ensure guest satisfaction ratings on cocktails exceed 90%
Wine & Food Service
- Ensure all food and wine are presented and served according to standards
- Maintain optimum serving conditions for wine
- Oversee adequate stock control and ordering
Stock Management
- Monitor and maintain bar inventory levels, ensuring proper rotation and minimal waste
- Execute stock orders accurately and promptly to avoid service disruptions
Operational Oversight
- Ensure the bar is set up and operationally ready before service begins
- Oversee bar closing procedures, ensuring equipment is cleaned and securely stored
- Conduct bi-monthly equipment servicing and weekly deep cleans, including grinders
Front-of-House Duties
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide menu recommendations
- Process payments efficiently and accurately, handling cash and electronic transactions
- Serve food and beverages, ensuring prompt and friendly service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the venue, leading by example
Customer Engagement
- Anticipate and respond to customer needs, ensuring a personalised and enjoyable experience
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests and team members
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with all departments to ensure smooth operations
- Assist management with reasonable ad hoc duties as required
- Be flexible and willing to assist in various tasks across the venue
Additional Responsibilities
- Occasionally work outside standard operating hours with sufficient notice
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving operations
- Assist with catering, events, marketing, and activations
Work Health and Safety
- Maintain and enforce safe work practices, ensuring WHS standards are met
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and food safety standards
- Educate team members on WHS policies to maintain a safe environment
