We are currently seeking a Kitchen Hand on a permanent part-time basis (8am to 2pm, daily with additional on the floor hours on offer) at our YMCA Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) Early Learning Service in Birtinya.
About the role
As the Kitchen Hand at the service, you will be responsible for facilitating the serving of meals provided by an external company, cutting up fruit for the children and setting up food trolleys for the meals as well as maintaining a clean and hygienic workstation.

Situated just 15 minutes north of Caloundra and 7 minutes west of Bokarina, our Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) Early Learning Centre was established in 2016. Located on the hospital rooftop, we provide essential care and education predominantly to the children of hospital staff. Surrounded by the beautiful Birtinya’s canals and housing estates, it offers a unique community lifestyle.
Operating from 6.00am to 6.00pm, we support the hardworking medical staff at the hospital by providing high-quality child care services.
Our Centre caters to up to 83 children daily, surrounded by parks, creeks, and play areas that inspire creative programming both inside and outside our facility. With a dedicated programming room, you’ll have the freedom to design and create programs that stimulate inquisitive and adventurous young minds.
