About the Role

At Mercato, we believe that the heart of our success lies in exceptional customer service. As one of our Front of House team members, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience from the moment they walk through our doors. Whether you’re greeting our customers with a warm smile, managing reservations, or attending to customer enquiries, your role will be pivotal in crafting memorable moments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet, welcome and seat our customers
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing menu recommendations when needed
• Prepare and serve beverages and food items
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
• Accept customers payments and process accordingly
• Restocking fridges and display counters as needed
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
• Promote a positive team environment and contribute to a supportive workplace culture
• Grow and build our CRM and customer loyalty program

  Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a customer focused role, preferably in a café or restaurant setting
• Genuine passion and pride for delivering outstanding customer experiences
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• A passion for coffee and food, with a willingness to learn about our menu offerings
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
• RSA qualifications (essential)
• Responsible Person Badge an advantage
• A good level of food & wine knowledge, and the desire for continual learning is an advantage
