As occupancy builds hours will increase until job is fulltime.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our East Victoria Park centre is at the top of the restaurant strip and is licensed for 80 children a day across six rooms. We are now looking for an experienced Centre Chef, who has had experience in either child care or aged care who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals.
In this role you will work autonomously to:
- Prepare a wide variety of nutritious meals, purees and special diet meals for babies and children as well as freshly baked treats for families daily,
- Enjoy interacting with our families.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Local Government requirements.
- Provide culinary classes alongside our Educators with even the littlest in our centre.
- Menu planning, in accordance with the centre’s nutrition policy and nutritional guidelines.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience in planning a rotating menu (including children with allergies and intolerances) suitable for children aged 8 weeks to 6 years
- Confident in stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for the kitchen.
- A willingness to place the children’s best interest at the heart of every decision.
- Possess a solution orientated attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.
- Possess excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen.
Qualifications
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Current Working with Children’s Check or application in place.
- Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain.
Desirable Criteria:
- Prior experience working in an early childhood or aged care kitchen is essential.
