About the role

Cleaning experience, drivers licence, clear english speech – working evenings.

A reliable, experienced cleaner is sought to join our team for shifts 4.30pm to 10pm, Monday to Thursday; possibly Saturday/Sunday in an emergency. You must be available to work over Christmas. A current Australian drivers licence is mandatory. Please provide a cover letter and your resume outlining your skills, cleaning experience, and interest in the position.

We are recruiting a hard working and experienced cleaner for common areas, specifically for evenings and possibly weekends (in emergencies), working approximately 20 hours a week. This work can be physically demanding, and heavy lifting may be involved. You will be mature (perhaps nearing retirement), able to handle responsibility, reliable and have preferably commercial cleaning experience. This position requires more cleaning experience than hotel housekeeping.

We are looking for motivated, friendly, and well-presented team members to join our small but enthusiastic team, for casual work. This is a physical job and cleaning experience is required.

Your previous building cleaning roles will provide useful experience to fulfil and understand each task required to keep the common areas of the property clean and well maintained.

• You will need experience in physical work
• Ability to achieve successful police check
• Commitment to accepting responsibility for completing tasks
• Willingness to work evenings, possibly weekends (in emergencies)
• Willingness to work over the Christmas period.

Your key duties will be varied and include:

• Cleaning duties in common areas
• Waste disposal management using skip and recycling bins
• Ensuring all duties are carried out as per schedules
• Pools and ground maintenance

We need people with:

• Good communication skills to relate to all generations (without anger/aggression issues) and clear speech
• Ability to speak and read English (safety with chemicals)
• Appropriate fitness and capacity to complete the full range of prescribed duties
• Neat and tidy appearance and presentation during shifts
• A commitment to punctuality, reliability, and pride in work at Imperial Surf
• Work referees

Remuneration is based on Hospitality Award, Guest Services base rate plus weekend loading.

About the business

Imperial Surf is in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, right on the beach.  The building is 40 stories high and occupied by residents and holiday makers.  Two basement areas are for carparks.  Public transport (bus/tram) is at the rear of the property.
