Job description MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide high-quality domestic assistance to the people we serve, who often include individuals with disabilities and elderly people. • Assist individuals with household duties including but are not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, sanitising hard surfaces, cleaning kitchens (including surfaces and appliances such as stoves, microwaves, ovens, fridges, and freezers), bathrooms, bedrooms and associated areas to the highest standards. • Assist individuals with domestic work duties including but are not limited to washing, making beds, changing bedding, ironing, folding laundry, minor maintenance jobs, preparation and cooking of meals, shopping, assistance with the care of pets, and care of indoor and outdoor pot plants. • Complete records accurately and timely. • Work as part of a team, in a unified approach, for the benefit of the person we serve. • Ensure the safety and protection of the people we serve. • Adhere to appropriate work practices to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the person we serve. • Notify management of occurring incidents or needs for repairs. • Understand and comply with all Mrs Poppins Care Policies and Procedures. • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Policies and Procedures. • Performing other duties consistent with the basic responsibilities of the position may be required. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Qualifications • Proven working experience providing domestic assistance with household duties • Positive criminal history checks (Police Check, Blue and/or Yellow Card) • Current unrestricted Drivers Licence • First Aid and CPR training (preferred) Skills • Genuine interest in working with people with high care needs and disabilities to provide support within a home environment • Ability to work with people with elderly people and people from diverse cultural backgrounds • Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision • Highly developed verbal communication skills and the ability to work as a team • Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours • Ability to stand for long periods • Flexible approach and positive attitude towards work PERFORMANCE GOALS • To complete work tasks on time to the highest standards • To be professional and respectful at all times with the people we serve, other people in the community, suppliers, other employees, etc. • To maintain personal hygiene and be presentable at all times Not; You must have reliable Car for this role!
