Whale Watching Sydney
Whales are among the most majestic animals on the planet: their combination of size and gracefulness makes every place the whales are a true spectacle.
There are over 20,000 humpback whales making the enormous journey from the subantarctic to the Great Barrier Reef each year. Sydney is the whale envy of Australia, with a whale-watching season that spans more than five months of the year.
Whale numbers peak in Sydney in June/July for migration from the north to deliver their whale babies and September/October for migration back south. The whales' behaviour is often most spectacular, with the younger males showing off with acrobatic leaps.
