Aurora Australis
Did you know that Australia has its own Aurora Borealis? The Aurora Australis lights up the night sky with shimmering shades of green, blue, purple and red. The lights can be seen all year round, although they are most common in winter (May to August) and during the spring equinox period in September.
Your best chance of witnessing this phenomenon is to be as far south as possible, i.e. in Tasmania.
